"A Poem"

The Compass Within Me

A far away or so it seemed, I have
drifted from the desires, dreams,
and all the comforts I had before
the me became we
Lost, off course, uncertain as to what
is yet to be
Longing to find myself, and that
direction
And the compass that is within me
Time will tell what was or what is
not in store for me
A new day, a new path, a stream of
of light, a glimmer of hope arises
within, like a butterfly that soon
will pass, but always to last
Earning to heal and mend my heart
Maybe this compass was lost, misplaced
or broken
To fix what was not to last, so I have
to let the pain pass
Now is the time for me to move on, to
have faith and let my feelings for
you go, to fly away like that butterfly
I so want to be free, to fly, and
flutter about.
Without any thought of direction, compass,
or troubles that be.
