What a traffic nightmare - Thanks Mr President

I live north of Seattle - going to visit friends - south of Seattle.
Most times I don't bother with the radio as I prefer to use the USB drive or hook up an mp3 player. Heck it's only a 45 min trip.
But not today....
When the traffic went from 60plus to dead stop - I thought oh crap now what - so I turned on the radio. "...yes the President is in town today..." well actually in several towns/cities but who's counting, raising money for his re-election campaign. The radio folk were joking - "...a photo with the Pres... a meager 7500... just pocket lint for some of the attendees... "
Yeah - I could use some of that pocket lint about now...

The radio continues "... once they are done on the East-side..." - oh yes! lovely! the East-side *sigh* that explains the traffic - "...the motorcade with return to Seattle..." so one of only two West bound freeway/floating bridges will be closed "...and then back to plane..." So that will close I5...cool - so glad I have the honor to sit here on 405 - so much for saving time.
Oh and the radio folks remind us that the one saving grace is that "...this trip it's being paid for by the campaign committee not the tax payers..."
Oh well, that's cool, ...now what about us tax payers that had the honor to sit in traffic while the privately funded caravan... ~~sprong~~ (sudden thought) ...now wait... does that mean the Secret Service hires out for private functions?
Oh this could be great!!
If I get my request of dates in soon enough they could me thru town for important meetings or even just money making opportunities - like getting to work on time??
Just think of it - the Secret Service closing freeways - cutting a path thru any traffic it encounters on my special day with the SS.... but then again, I suppose they charge for gas and all the pretty lights when they hire out for private events....
...yeah I could use some of that pocket lint about now.
So I arrive 3 hours late, dinners over, movies 3/4 over and everyone upset (really upset) because I'm so late and the fact I didn't know the traffic would be bad... yeah the trip home an equal load of fun as well.

My first thought this morning was to roll over and go back to sleep... um... OK... my second thought.

 Oops - didn't pay attention that the "approve comments" was set
and as you can tell, I haven't check the blog in a while, with the site so dead most of the time, didn't figure there would be a response anyway - just a good place to vent
